  • Book of Common Prayer
    Electronic, full-text versions and information on the 1979, 1928, 1789 Episcopal and 1662 Church of England prayer books
     
  • Forward Day by Day
    Day by day meditations. Forward Movement Publications is an official agency of the national Episcopal Church. Since 1935 they have produced pamphlets, booklets, and books to encourage and nourish people as they grow in their lives of prayer and faith. They are best known for the popular quarterly devotional Forward Day by Day, providing daily meditations based on readings from the Bible appointed by the lectionaries.
     
  • Searchable Online Bible
    This website provides an online search of the bible for passages (e.g. John 3:16), keyword (e.g. Jesus, prophet, etc.) or topic (e.g. salvation) for a variety of bibles in a variety of languages. Some of the bibles that are online are: New International, American Standard, King James, New Life, etc. There are 19 English-language Bibles available. There are also bibles available in: Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Korean, and many others. There are bibles in 31 different languages (many with multiple versions).
     
  • Reverend Fun
    This site contains Christian cartoons (a new one every day) that are available for use in flyers and newsletters (but not for sale) as long as the circulation is less than 1000. All cartoons are Copyright Gospel Communications International, Inc - www.reverendfun.com.


Community Religious Agencies

  • Associated Ministries
    Associated Ministries is the local association of churches for Tacoma-Pierce County, Washington. Its membership includes 200 congregations, religious organizations, and interfaith partners. In 2004, we estimate that we directly served more than 6,500 clients, ranging in age from birth to 94. When considering our other indirect services, we served more than 150,000 people in Pierce County, with the help of over 4,000 volunteers.
     
  • KAIROS Prison Ministry
    The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.


Regional and National Religious Agencies

  • Episcopal Diocese of Olympia
    Homepage of our diocese. Congregations of the Episcopal Church are groups of Christians gathered in a geographic area called a diocese and led by a bishop. The Diocese of Olympia was formed in 1910 but traces its history as a missionary territory to 1853. It covers the state of Washington west of the Cascade Mountains summit. The diocese's 102 congregations range from small congregations in rural communities to large corporate-size parishes and include a diocesan cathedral, St. Mark's Cathedral on Seattle's Capitol Hill. The Right Reverend Vincent W. Warner has served as diocesan bishop since 1990.
     
  • The Episcopal Church in the USA
    Official page of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America. The Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the churches around the world that trace their roots to the Church of England, and maintain a “communion” with it, hence the name “Anglican.” Other members of the Communion include the Anglican Church of Canada and the Anglican Church of Nigeria. In fact, most Anglicans now live in Africa.
     
  • Episcopal Public Policy Network, EPPN
    The Episcopal Public Policy Network, EPPN, is the part of the national church that furthers the church’s positions via relationships with government and media and by mobilizing grassroots Episcopalians (us). As Episcopalians, we promise in the Baptismal Covenant to “strive for justice and peace.” Striving for a just and peaceful world can take the form of helping those in need one-on-one. It can also involve pursuing broad, social change through public policies designed to help the needy. The EPPN is committed to the ministry of justice and peace through public policy advocacy.

  • Episcopal Relief and Development
    A ministry of the whole church for the whole world. ERD provides emergency assistance in times of disaster; rebuilds devastated communities and offers long-term program development solutions to fight poverty.
     
  • Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
    Official page of the Evangelical Luthern Church in America. NOTE: The Episcopal Church and the ELCA are in full communion.

  • American Cancer Society
    The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community- based voluntary health organization. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has state divisions and more than 3,400 local offices.
     
  • BRIDGES
    The purpose of BRIDGES is to provide a place where children and their families can grieve in a healthy way for the loss of a parent or sibling, while supported in a caring, understanding and accepting environment. (Part of Mary Bridges Hospital, Tacoma). Unfortunately, there is no direct link to their webpage!   • Emergency Food Network
    The Emergency Food Network (EFN) has been working since 1982 "to see that no person in Pierce County goes hungry." Each month in Pierce County, more than 140,000 people seek emergency food assistance. EFN provides food and other essentials at no cost to more than 70 food banks, hot meal sites and shelters for distribution to low-income families and individuals.
     
  • Faith Homes
    Faith Homes provides emergency shelter and transitional housing for homeless and/or abused young women aged 13-25, while providing support and guidance, role models, training, and supervision. Clients are given the opportunity to work, obtain vocational training, and complete their high school education or GED so they may become independent, productive members of our community.
     
  • Habitat for Humanity, Tacoma/Pierce County
    Tacoma Pierce County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
     
  • Northwest Parent Connection
    A "virtual family support center" as well as an online community gathering place for parents and those who work with families
     
  • Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful
    Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful (Tacoma, Washington) organizes volunteer crews to paint the homes of low-income senior and low-income disabled men and women in Tacoma/Pierce County. We are a program of Associated Ministries, the local association of churches whose mission is to create community that is humane, compassionate, and just.
     
  • Tacoma Rescue Mission
    "We help all people; including clients, volunteers, donors and staff, to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and food to the homeless or hurting; offer self-sufficiency programs to help lift a person from poverty and break the chains of addiction; support prevention programs and share our Christian faith."
